For those who want to pursue dog breeding as a business, it is better that you register a kennel name with the AKC, short for the American Kennel Club. You might choose the name of the kennel on the name of your pet dog. The advantage is this that you’ll get a proper license to breed dogs. A permit is really necessary since a larger number of dogs might add to the nuisance of the neighbors and they might end up complaining to the police. Thus, it is better you get a permit and get registered as early as when you get your first dog.

If you’re a female dog owner, make sure that the male dog belongs to an experienced breeder since dogs don’t fall in love easily, and an experienced breeder will be an expert in this game. He’ll know how to introduce the dogs and get them in heat. Post breeding; make a visit to the vet at least once as a pre-natal visit. He’ll advice you whether the delivery can happen via c-section and will let you know how many pups are expected and what precautions should be taken.
