Are books on Pregnancy any help?
I’m 5 weeks (I think) and I can’t get in with the OB until 14 Aug. I have no idea what I need to be doing to prepare or how I should be feeling. I know its a pretty general question but I need advice. I feel like I’m lost. Are the Pregnancy Books worth it to buy? I’ve been told no but why would they still be on the shelf if they didn’t help?
Those books do help. Anything will help if you feel lost. I say get the books, and get as much advice from other parents. I even suggest getting a post pregnancy book. They even have books for the first year of your babies life. The one my wife and I got was very helpful when our son was born. It was hilarious when my wife and I first got home from the hospital with our son, she said,” Well, now what do we do?” Luckily I had experience with little brothers and sisters. So I taught her to change diapers and identify signs of diaper rash. LOL

For all that, the story is conventional: a 19-year-old Italian-American from Brooklyn, Tony Manero (John Travolta), works in a hu… |

Miracle $3.45 In collaborating on Miracle, Celine Dion and her partner in baby love Anne Geddes carefully sidestepped the L-word–a smart move, considering that the songs captured here, despite their electric-blanket warmth, aren’t always lullaby-like in their delivery. Though the collaboration is about babies–the liner notes to this CD provide a sneak peek at Geddes’ visual wizardry available in both the exp… |

The Fly [Blu-ray] $8.82 David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of the science fiction classic about a scientist who accidentally swaps body parts with a fly is both smart and terrifying: an allegory for the awful processes of slow death and a monster movie with a tragic spin. Jeff Goldblum gives a masterful performance as a sweet, nerdy scientist whose romance with a writer (Geena Davis) makes him more fully alive. Next thing yo… |
